VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT

Supervision and Interactions:

• Volunteers should not be alone with children in private without supervision by a parent, legal guardian, school or centre staff member.• Mindful selection of games and activities is crucial, and physical contact (e.g., tickling) must be avoided.

Language and Behavior:

• Volunteers must maintain appropriate language and behavior in the presence of children.• Arguments, inappropriate language, or any form of abusive behavior (verbal, physical, or otherwise) are strictly prohibited. Incidents must be reported immediately to a staff member and Kids4Kids.

Communication and Personal Information:

• Volunteers must refrain from asking about the background, family situation, or any personal matters of children.• Avoid making promises about future encounters.• Exchange of contact details with children is strictly prohibited.

Gifts and Personal Items:

• Volunteers should not give children personal items, candy, or money.

Electronic Devices:

• Personal electronic devices, such as mobile phones, should not be used during sessions.

Photography and Publication:

• Photography of children is not allowed without explicit permission from their legal guardian and Kids4Kids.• Publishing material or stories about children also requires prior consent.

Substance Use:

• Volunteers must never be under the influence of alcohol or drugs nor smoke around children.

Respect for Diversity:

• Volunteers must respect the diversity of the communities being served, including ethnic, cultural, religious, or other differences.

Maintaining Boundaries:

• Volunteers must be aware that some children may seek ‘special attention’, and it is the volunteer's responsibility to maintain appropriate boundaries.

Remedial Action:

• Inappropriate behavior, including failure to adhere to this code of conduct, will result in remedial action, including potential dismissal from programs and legal repercussions.

Punctuality:

• Volunteers must be punctual for all scheduled sessions. Late arrivals will be considered a violation.

Attendance Policy:

• Absence without prior notification will be considered a no-show. Three no-show instances will lead to the deactivation of the volunteer's Kids4Kids account, with no certificate of participation issued.

Use of Kids4Kids Name and Representation:

• Volunteers must not use the name, property, logos, or marks of Kids4Kids without prior consent. Representation of Kids4Kids requires approval.
